Introduction

Trouw Nutrition is a global leader in feed specialities, additives, and premixes for farm and companion animals. Their UK site required a complex flooring upgrade with minimal operational disruption.

Challenge

All works had to be carried out over weekends to allow production to resume every Monday morning by 6am. The facility also included two steel mezzanine floors and an area requiring anti-static properties.

Solution

We developed a carefully phased programme to complete each section within a 48-hour window. For the mezzanine floors, we applied a specialised metal bonding primer, followed by a flexible, solvent-free polyurethane resin. This provided a durable and crack-resistant surface that could accommodate movement in the steel structure.

In the anti-static zone, we installed a conductive flooring system using **copper tape grid earthing** between resin layers, connected to designated electrical points. The final topcoats included a broadcast of 0.4–0.8mm conductive aggregate to ensure consistent anti-static performance.

Outcome

The project was delivered on time, every time—allowing full operations to resume without delay. Trouw Nutrition now has safe, specialist flooring tailored to their operational and technical requirements, including critical anti-static protection.
